NHL Preseason - Calgary 5, Edmonton 0

Where do I start? Well they stunk would be a good start, and Ty "I can't stop a puck" Conklin was horrible. One shot, that's all he could stop in the 3rd period, thank god the Flames only had 5 shots. Calgary scored once in the second period and Ty Conklin may or may not have been on earth in the third as he only stopped one, yes that's right one, of the 5 shots that Calgary had in the third period as the Flames pounded Edmonton 5-0. Shots were 7-5 for Calgary in the first, 15 to 6 for Calgary in the second and 8 to 5 for Edmonton in the third period (thank god they only had 5 shots). Overall Calgary out shot Edmonton 27-19 (thank god they only had 5 shots in the 3rd). The Flames were 1 for 9 on the powerplay and the Oilers were 0 for 4.
This latest effort by Mr. Conklin (and I use the word "effort" in the loosest way possible) doesn't exactly leave me feeling all warm and fuzzy about the Oilers goaltending (or lack there of). Obviously Conklin isn't up to the task, at least he hasn't shown that yet. Markkanen is unproven and out with an injury, he should be back by mid October. This leaves the Oilers with (drum roll please) Mike Morrison as the best goalie in camp. Who is Mike Morrison? I'm not sure either, the NHL web page has no info on him, infact I've tried many pages and have found no info on him. So that's it, the Oilers are once again relying on an unknown to come through and show up big time. I hope he does because Conklin isn't doing much of anything, oh yea he stopped a puck in the third period last night (thank god they only had 5 shots).
