NHL Preseason

Edmonton 4, Calgary 0

Well the Oilers finally did it, they won a game in regulation. It took till almost the end of the preseason to do it but they managed to do it. Chris Pronger opened the scoring for Edmonton in the first period as the Oilers out shot Calgary 15 - 6. Ethan Moreau scored early in the second period as the Oilers outshot the Flames 13 - 2. In the third period Bergeron scored on the power play and Hemsky added another goal as the Oilers jumped out to a 4 - 0 lead and held on to win the game. The Flames out shot Edmonton 13 - 11 in the third period, overall Edmonton out shot Calgary 39 - 21. The Flames were 0 for 7 on the powerplay wile Edmonton was 2 for 12. Mike Morrison played the entire game between the pipes for Edmonton as he made a strong case for a spot on the roster come October 5th, he stopped all 21 shots he faced.
The Oilers face the Flames again tonight in Calgary and finish the preseason with a game in Vancouver this Saturday.
